Save the cheerleader
Hayden Panettiere, known to millions as Claire Bennet in Heroes, died on 16 August 2026 at 36. Police found her unresponsive in Greenville, South Carolina. An autopsy found no trauma, police reported no signs of foul play, and the cause remains undetermined while the investigation continues.
Her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, had been published on 19 May. She wrote about childhood fame, addiction, depression and abuse. Recent screen work included Scream VI and Amber Alert, which she also executive-produced.
